Area Break-Ins

We wanted to let all of you know about several break-ins in the area and this morning a home belonging to one of our members (who knows about the incident) had a fire.  The home was winterized.  Nobody knows if these things are related so I am unable to provide any additional information.  The fire and sheriff departments are working together.
 
Reminder that there is a House Watch Program operated by the Sheriff's Auxiliary Volunteers of Navavjo County.  It is a great service that is operated solely on donations...it is a 501(c)(3).  
 
 
Their request forms and program information is at that site; we also have their information and sign up forms at the rec. center.
 
We also encourage neighbors helping neighbors by keeping an eye on each other's homes when possible.

Just a reminder our association is over 1700 properties and as the season changes more folks want to get on their projects as soon as possible that require permits, please understand that permitting is not the only responsibility of the CCR office but so is enforcement, property transfers, new builds, inspections and more, so please practice some patience when seeking your permit.  Projects and their permitting make take up to five working days from the time your application is received in the office to be reviewed. 
 
Amenities Access Reminder

Pinetop Lakes Association (PLA) is a private, members only, homeowner’s association.

Your association and its amenities are becoming quite popular.  There were 120 property sales in the association in 2017.  As many of you know the boundaries of PLA have some interesting pockets, as a result some folks simply just walk in off the street and say, “We’re here”, and think they are on their way to the pool and of course that is not the case.  Also, sadly we have members tell friends “assume member’s identity” and attempt to use the amenities.  We also have had people say “I am a guest of…” although that member is not with them or they had come in with a member previously and try to come in by suggesting that gives them carte blanche to come in any time; of course not.  There are other ways people try to enter and without a doubt people have had success entering when they do not have the privilege to do so.

Therefore, access of individuals will be more scrutinized.  This is to ensure the people who have the privilege to enter the amenities get to and those that don’t, cannot.

  • Everyone who wishes to enter the recreation center must have their ID to show to staff at all times or your access may be denied.  You must check in at the front desk before moving onto your activity regardless how many people are in front of you waiting to do the same.
  • Remember if a member has a CCR violation, an account balance, etc…access will be denied to the amenities for any person associated with that property until the member handles the respective matter.
  • Remember, guest passes and the additional six list are items PLA has added to be more member friendly, but are not an obligation to be provided.

This is a private facility. Members pay annual dues to have access, not friends, not co-workers, etc…nobody enters without approval of PLA.   Even members who have been coming in and out of the recreation center for years need to have their ID ready to show.  Members, there is a very good chance some staff may ask for your ID while others don’t, that is based on staff first-hand experience and knowledge, not member comments.  Also, a reminder to members with their own fitness center cards; it is yours to use, not a co-worker, friend, etc.  Even if you are just going to the fitness center have an ID handy in the event staff spot-checks who is in our private facility.  PLA can and will turn your card off if it is being used by a non-member.  You will not get it back and you will not receive a refund.  You are putting at risk your access to our amenities by not abiding by the guidelines.

A second item related to the information above is PLA members bringing guests to our amenities.  While it is okay for members to do so, if another member’s ability to participate in an activity is hindered because non-members are taking up slots…pickleball, pool, tennis, etc… who do you think will be denied access or asked to leave our amenities?  Not PLA members.

  • Members bringing guests to our amenities must remain with their guests throughout their guest's time on site.  You are responsible for your guest(s).

Should there be issues with these items or related in nature, member access may be denied, fitness center card revoked, restrict guest access and more.  Ignorance of the guidelines is not an excuse.

We are all very proud of this place and work hard to keep it a place that 120 families want to buy properties in your association.  Help us keep it that way, be prepared with your IDs and follow the guidelines that you legally agreed to upon becoming an owner/member of Pinetop Lakes Association.

Please make sure you have your IDs with you when you are using association amenities, including the fitness center because members are having friends “claim” their identities.  Should we catch someone doing this they will be asked to leave because they are trespassing and the member and everyone on the member’s family list will be barred from the facilities for 30 days, fitness center card turned off, and the member will be fined.  Access will be denied beyond the 30 days should the fine not be paid.  The penalties increase with each infraction.
 
Once again, our amenities are a private, member’s only: perk, privilege and benefit.

Does PLA send emails?
Yes, from two different "sources".  Staff here have individual email addresses:

It appears that you receive emails from those addresses with little difficulty; where there has been an issues is when we send an email from our member software.  For many of you we are finding out messages from these accounts are going to your junk folders.  
The who from is: "Pinetop Lakes Association Jennifer Simone" or Rob Raven or Steve Berman so please keep an eye out for messages in your junk folder.

This is the time of the year lots of projects begin, permits are required for many items, call Rob at 369.2355 to find out if yours does.  If you start a project without approval you fines are possible in addition to the permit where applicable.

When an email is sent from PLA and in the subject line it has the content of the email with the word "Blast" after, it is an email out to all of you.  The system incorporates each of your names individually automatically, but the email content may not be specific to you, it is a general email to all members for whom we have email addresses.

The video is for a website "visitpinetoplakeside.com".  The site is designed for you and tourists to see what is happening in area throughout the year. There is also a link on the website to plac&s for camping.  On the site you will see a video on its homepage, that video changes periodically based on season and activities.   A new one will be out soon, our facilities will be in that too.
