Summer Music Program

Chris will offer beginning and intermediate for both children and adults totaling four classes per day three days per week. Classes would be fifty minutes long.  Classes would start Wednesday May 27, 2015 and continue until July 31, 2015.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday:
                        8:00 till 8:50 am                 Beginning Guitar   
                        9:00 till 9:50 am                 Intermediate Guitar
                        10:00 till 10:50 am             Beginning Guitar
                        11:00 till 11:50 am             Intermediate Guitar
Materials: Students will need a working guitar, case, extra set of strings, wire music stand and the Hal Leonard Guitar Method (I recommend the Complete Edition) Book One by Will Schmid and Greg Koch.
Curriculum: Students will learn fundamental concepts of music theory, how to read music and apply it to their guitar playing. Students will also learn the parts of the guitar, how to hold the guitar, how to fingerpick and play with a pick. Students will also learn how to play a major scale and blues scale pattern around the circle of fifths. Students will also have the opportunity to improvise over simple chords changes.
Biography: Christopher Long Bachelors of Music with a string emphasis from Arizona State University, Arizona State Secondary Teaching Certificate with a K-12 Music endorsement. I have fourteen years of instrumental music classroom experience. My main instrument is the String bass; I also play electric bass, guitar, piano, brass, woodwinds and percussion. Currently I am the Choir Director for Unity of the White Mountains and I teach music at Saint Anthony School in Show Low, AZ.  I also perform every Wednesday at Salt Restaurant and Wine Bar in Lakeside, AZ with the John Darst Trio. 
Class free to owners and immediate family. $3 for additional six, renters and guests. Guests must be accompanied by an owner, additional or renter.
